In 2009, extreme weather in the South of France caused major disruption to France’s electricity networks. At the time, during the storms, it was reported that 1 million people had lost power to their homes.
Our client, Brockwells Forestry, who carried out works for Électricité de France contacted us to provide Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, so that they were able to assist with tree felling operations and overhead powerline restoration.
Strategy & Execution
At the time of request, we were asked to provide as many off-road capable vehicles for the next day. We were able to assist with this request in the form of:
- 2 Mercedes U400 Unimogs with Versalift VST240i
- 2 Mercedes U140 Unimogs with Versalift VST240i
- 1 Mercedes Artego with Versalift VST240i
The vehicles were despatched to Dover, so that the client could transport the vehicles the rest of the way, the vehicles proceeded to assist with the clear up and restoration for the following month.
